Working With A Pendulum
Dowsing and the use of pendulums go way back. The practice is as old as time, from using pendulums and rods to finding water, minerals, gravesites, and oil.
There are passages in the Bible about Moses and Aaron using "the Rod" to locate water.
The Oracle of Delphi used a pendulum to get answers for her clients.
In the history of dowsing with a pendulum, you'll find that some priests believed that only those with knowledge of the cosmos should divine for the layperson.
The rest of us weren't magical enough and had to rely upon the priests to gain the guidance we sought.
Thank goodness that time is over. You can use a pendulum, and you don't have to ask anyone's permission.
What is dowsing?
It's a form of divination that, when using a pendulum, is an extension of your senses and energy to channel universal wisdom and consciousness.
Pendulums are an easy-to-use tool for divining information.
When you're ready to work with your pendulum, it's always a good idea to smudge and cleanse the energy in the room and your pendulum.
The key to receiving accurate answers comes down to two things.
You have to set an intention for your session with the pendulum.
Detach yourself from the answer.
Intentions
Setting intention is essential whenever you're doing sacred work because you always want to set the stage for the work that you're going to do.
Setting an intention focuses your energy into the present time, brings your mind to the task at hand, and raises the vibration acting as a form of protection.
You want to be specific. It can be as simple as saying something like:
"I ask for truthful answers which will serve the highest good of all."
You can also open a circle for this work if you'd like, but if you don't feel it is warranted, you can set the intention without opening a circle of protection. Psst... I just released a video on opening a circle in the Moon Moth Manor.
Detachment
Detaching from the answer is vital for accuracy because your investment in the answer will affect the accuracy of your reading.
For instance, if you're asking a question like "does Bob love me?" and you want Bob to love you, your emotional investment in the answer will affect the accuracy of the pendulum.
You have to keep your thoughts neutral; if you can't do that, that is not the right moment to do a pendulum reading.
You could even ask the pendulum if you're in the right frame of mind to ask your question. Which is an excellent first question anytime you work with your pendulum. Then, once you get your "yes," you can get on with your pendulum session.
As you work more and more with your pendulum, you can print out charts, or make your own, to get more in-depth information. For example, you can use a pendulum to clear the energy in a room or find energy blockages in your Chakras.
These are just a few ways you can work with a pendulum. However you choose to work with one, I hope you enjoy the practice.
